Here we
are, two sisters, Monica and Patrizia. We are very close, not only because we
love each other so much, but because we work together and have the same
passion… cooking!
In our
family cooking is not a tradition.
However, I (Patrizia), since I was very young liked to ramble among the
stoves. In Italy, On the 6th
of January, children receive toys from the “ Befana”. I asked for and was given
a “Dolce Forno”, a real oven for girls,
with which I started to make cakes for all the family.
As I grew, my
passion for cooking also continued to grow, learning from each culinary
disaster. I still remember when I ruined
a meat soup, but I also remember the incredible emotion I had after tasting my
first “Pandoro”. From these experiences
and many others, I’ve become a point of reference for my friends who have
problems cooking.
Well I’ve learned
a lot from my defeats, and I would like to put all my experience at your
disposal. I also would very much like to hear of your experiences.
I am an
interior designer and am curious about everything. This aspect of my character is often useful
when I cook, even if my husband does not agree.
I’ve
created this blog together with Monica, because we are very like minded. I
think that if one day I would decide to collect crown caps, I would do it with
her.
Even though
we are so close, we are very different when we cook. I am very passionate and
fanciful and I express myself better on the salted dishes, she is very
methodical and she express herself better preparing cakes and sweets. But we
have the same passion!
I’m Monica,
the one who supposedly would collect crown caps if her sister Patrizia were to ask
her to. I hope she would never ask this of me, because I’m sure that for the
first time I would say “No” to her!
I also played
with Patrizia’s “Dolce Forno”, and loved
to prepare cakes. I remember that one of
my first tarts was so thick that my father asked for a saw to cut it… I forgot
to put the butter in it!
Despite
some of my first attempts, I am still fond of preparing and eating sweets.
